Alice Quinn and Sean O'Brien: The Poetic State of Play: Poetry in the UK & the USA

Alice Quinn, executive director of the Poetry Society of America and poetry editor of The New Yorker from 1987-2007, and Sean O’Brien, Forward-prize winning poet, critic and professor of creative writing at Newcastle University, interviewed by CultureCasts' Caroline Beck after a live event at Newcastle's Culture Lab on 13 March 2008.

At the event, which was chaired by Jules Mann, director of the Poetry Society, they discussed poetry matters in the UK and the USA, looking at the critical state of poetry, the poets who define the current scenes in their respective countries, and how poetry is engaging with critics and with readers.
